pretty neat stuff..
One Dress, 365 Days
Sometimes, the smallest of ideas-turned into something phenomenal, just makes me catch my breath. I love The Uniform Project, I’d beg you to check them out, but I know you already will,
check them out here.
Hansel is my dog…
Lately, I’ve been singing praises about designer and former model Jo Soh’s quirky pieces for her fashion label Hansel. She is both: a talented designer and a headstrong businesswoman, what’s more, she’s Singaporean. I love her new geometric swan collection. I can definately see myself working with for her in the near future.
-Oh, Hansel, I’m your new fan!
Knowledge vs. love
-
1 corinthians 8:1-3
“Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. The man who thinks he knows something does not yet know as he ought to know. But the man who loves God is known by God.”
-
Yesterday’s message at church about the 6 fundamental principles we should adopt was amazing…I’m into my 2nd week of work and I am humbled to learn from the people around me, working has truly given me a different perspective on life; so different from the comfortable confines and teachings at The One Academy(watch out, there be wolves out there). Such moments like this brings the above verse to mind, I hope that in the quest of learning of new skills and acquiring knowledge, I wouldn’t forget what’s most important..

First Impressions
Made another trip to the library and found this gem: Display, Commercial Space and sign design by Rikuyosha vol.37.
Kagoshima Museum of Environment: Planet Earth and its future)
-
First Impressions:
I absolutely adore their motto: ” What we have done and what must be done“, which is displayed in bold letters behind the cashier counter. I also love the emphasis on the english translation.
-
Signs That Grow up with Children, Kiyama Elementary School.
-
First Impressions:
Delightfully simple infographics are used here; directions are clear-cut and easy to understand. I love that the deisgns require interaction from the kids.
-
And lastly,
Nakasei- Tamagawa, Denechofu, Tokyo.
Version Two
Another version, made some changes. I’ve got lots to learn from the swiss designers on minimalism, so bear with me.

Letters to Sophie
-
I just love making up fancy titles for fictional stories, don’t you?
I never knew Sophie Dahl was the grandaughter of the late Roald Dahl, at least until I read an an excerpt from Under the Hankerchief Tree in a Harper’s Bazaar issue. (yes! Harper’s indeed.) Thinking back, the main character in B.F.G was named Sophie too.
